What parents ask
The honest answers
- My kid has never bowled. Is that a problem?
- No. Bumpers go up automatically for whoever needs them, and the coaches are used to five-year-olds who want to roll it two-handed. Nobody is being cut.
- We have games and meets on Saturdays.
- Pre-bowls and post-bowls are allowed. Miss a week for another sport, bowl your games another time, keep your spot.
- Does my kid need a team?
- The Saturday youth league is a singles league. Show up alone; they'll be on a book with other kids by the first week.
- Is there anything in it beyond Saturday morning?
- Tournament and scholarship opportunities, and real preseason practice if they bowl for a high school team. The Brett LaCruze Memorial here is a youth singles scholarship tournament.
- Can I bowl with them?
- Tuesday Adult/Youth is exactly that — ten weeks, $22 a team, one adult and one young bowler.
